Every day the Lincolnshire Library Service fleet of Mobile Libraries operating from bases around the county, takes thousands of books and other resources to people all over the County, providing a vital link between the Library Service and the numerous and diverse communities in Lincolnshire, from North Cotes and Brocklesby in the north east of the county to South Witham and Uffington in the south west.

Each Mobile Library carries a range of fiction and non fiction books, large print and talking books for both adults and children, including a substantial amount of picture books and board books to enable us to welcome our youngest residents on board.  Mobile libraries also carry a wide range of leaflets about local events and community information.

Stock is regularly rotated to ensure a constant supply of different titles, but it is also very easy to reserve items that you would like to see. You can also "pick up your PIN" to use with your membership card to access our online catalogue and order books and other items including DVDs, CDs and Videos to be ready for your next visit to the Mobile Library.

The service is free to use and open to everyone for all information needs,  learning and leisure reading.  

 

The mobile library visits Brant Broughton, outside the Generous Briton every four weeks, from 10.30am until 12.00 noon.

 

If you take books out on one visit, but are unable to attend the next visit you can renew your books by telephoning 01205 782010 – this can be done twice.  Alternatively you can return your books to any public library in Lincolnshire.

 

If the mobile is unable to attend a planned visit due to inclement weather conditions or mechanical failure then the books will automatically be renewed.

 

The Parish Council would like to know your views on the service currently offered, and if there is sufficient voice we may be able to negotiate small changes – ie more convenient stops, longer stops, change of day etc, however it is highly unlikely at this stage that the fortnightly service will be reinstated.  The service is due for review by Lincolnshire County Council in June 09
